Grilled Cheese Bar: Oh, Yes We Did!

I’m a girl that loves a good grilled cheese sandwich. I mean who doesn’t!  As a kid, I would visit my grandmother and she would just laugh at how all I ever wanted her to make me was a grilled cheese sandwich. Even when my parents would take us to restaurants, I’d scour the menus for grilled cheese sandwiches.  I didn’t know it at the time, but I was on the hunt for the perfect sandwich.



So, when the PLEXIS Wellness Advisory Team decided on a Grilled Cheese Day celebration, I jumped right on the bandwagon.  I researched the best ways to make them, the best ways to grill them, and the best ingredients to include. Thus the idea of the Grilled Cheese Bar was created.  With four types of bread, 5 kinds of cheese, and a variety of sides, sauces, and extras, everyone was able to create their best version of the great American classic sandwich.



My favorite concoction was Sourdough with Swiss, apples, and pears (don’t knock it ‘til you’ve tried it).  Renee was partial to the Sourdough with Pepper jack, caramelized onions, and jalapenos.  Staci couldn’t get enough of the Gluten Free bread with Havarti, onions, pears and apples. With the ability to pick and choose what you wanted in your sandwich and then having it grilled by our Grill Master, everyone was able to have a great lunch followed by a relaxing time visiting with co-workers.



As for my hunt for the perfect grilled cheese sandwich, I may not be there quite yet, but I knocked out a few attempts with the help of PLEXIS Grilled Cheese Bar.
